I'm a strong advocate of the idea that LLs and TGPs should have rules against too much hardcore and against the use of any content which is very likely (in the reviewer's opinion) to allow a surfer to get off.
UW has a great point about brown paper wrappers. There's been a ton of porn sold online from pages that have either no images or very little in the way of images, let alone hardcore images. Of course it all depends on the 'selling style' you want to use. Some folks seem to prefer to overload the surfer with hardcore imagery until they either buy something or get off. That's a fine line to walk, and if the webmaster isn't good at it, there will be a lot of surfers who get away without spending a dime. And yes, it can depend on what kind of traffic you have too. Sometimes the selling style needs to be tailored to the traffic sources or the traffic sources need to be reworked to better match the intended selling style.
