Still doesn't explain tigemom taking offence to hitler, i know jewish people here that drive volkswagen beatles, look into the history of them.

10 million jews were slaughtered during WW2, god knows how many people were killed in bombings here.

In what way has hitler had a personal effect on tigermom?

None, just used to make a statement nothing more.

ok, I wasn't going to jump in here but my fingers have a life of their own

what if Tigermom, like me and like a lot of other people of Jewish descent, had ancestors and relatives that were killed as a direct result of hitler's actions - would that not affect that person? What if those people had lived, would they have raised their children differently, lived in different places? And in turn would those children have had different lives? And their children...all the way down to me. Would I have a different life than I have now if those relatives had lived instead of died?

The past always affects the present and the future.

By the way Simon, that was an interesting read, maybe this thread should end

PS - sorry this thread went so far downhill, SG!!

Ahhh the "what if", ok what if the raids on the heavy water plants had failed?
Remembering things like the berlin pact and hitler declaring war on the US, would any of us be here now??

What if the 1000's of bombs that destroyed london killing 10's of 1000's of people didn't happen?
What if coventry hadn't of been levelled by german bombers and 1000's of people hadn't of been killed?
What if millions of allied soldiers hadn't of been killed or wounded?

Do i take offence if hitler is mentioned?
Does anyone else anywhere take offence?

Seems not, so why do you? before our time was it not so how has it effected any of us, please explain?
