The max was 5 years, but Federal guidelines for a first time offender is 12-18 months, so the judge did give him more time than the recommeded guidelines.
What that means is that there is no way he can even think about resuming his football career until the 2010 season. If the league then makes him serve another years suspension, which seems likely based on prior precedents and comments I've read, then make that the 2011 season. After three or four years out of the league his skills will most likely have diminished to the point where he'll be little more than a backup somewhere. And as far as any endorsement deals if/when he returns to football, there won't be many and they won't be big ones. He'd best learn a new trade while he's doing his time, "yawantfrieswiththat?" Eye for an eye... put him in the ring against a pit bull and see how he fights. But first train the dog to go for the nuts so it takes him out of the gene pool.
My bets for the dog... ![]() Funny... that's what my father always used to tell me when I brought home bad grades.
