Recovering Data From A Formatted HDD

I've made a mess at home while formating my HDD. Fortunately for me none of my important info was there but unfortunately for me my girlfriend had her entire university project there. So, You can imagine what happened besides me sleeping on a sofa
Anybody know of any program that does miracle and recovers data from formated HDD!? I've found few but am interested what You may know about them, witch would You recoment and Your experience with them (if You had similar problem) before I buy one ... thanks in advance

If it's really important data (not sure how comfortable your sofa* is), you may also want to consider using a drive/data recovery service. They can be expensive, but you can balance that against the other costs you're incurring now.

* I hope you got it from Sofa King, 'cause their sofas are Sofa King comfortable.

Have had good luck with this program. I'm a Mac user so it is a Mac program. The trick is to use it before you start writing new data to the drive.

I did that once and lost all my companies accounting data. I took the HD to a little hole-in-the-wall computer repair shop and they recovered everything. Charged me $100.

program that works miracles and that got me my side of the bed back is r-studio
I hope You won't be needing this but in case You do something stupid like formating windows operating FAT32 partition completely to NTFS and while doing it delete all Your important files, don't worry this program will get 90% back
