I'm moving this from PMs to save time. Yes, I would need much broader rights than you seem to be able to grant, since you're not the copyright owner nor authorized to grant those rights on their behalf.

Please do put me in direct contact me with the dealer from who you purchased your 'rights' so I can verify what permissions they actually have the right to grant and can see whether or not these stories would be usable at all.

Thanks much,

Simon

I'm not saying that this situation is the same thing, but each time I read this thread, I think about all of those deals on eBay where can purchase 18 thousand-million-quatrillian ebooks for $5. They all toss around 'resell rights' and none of them remember who stole all of the ebooks in the first place.

I wish I had of thought of those deals first, apparently after 100 years or so book copyrights expire so classics like Dickens, Poe and such can reproduced by anyone and sold by anyone at no cost.
Dracula by Bram Stoker wasn't the first vampire movie because of copyright issues, when the copyright expired Hollywood could go nuts at no cost.
I read that on wiki somewhere, so it must be true
