How is Webair?

Wow, that does sound too good to be true. Hosting is getting dirt cheap these days, I could probably save 80% of what I am paying now for a host, I'll have to start looking around. Last time I went host shopping I needed so much space that getting a virtual account wasnt even an option and I have less than 100 gigs, but am probably gonna be needing quite a bit more here soon. Whats crazy is if that 5.95 a month plan is really all its cracked up to be it would be able to host everything I have on my dedicated. With things getting more and more expensive here lately around here, cutting some costs couldnt hurt any. Something I'll have to consider this coming month since I gotta pay my server bill tomorrow.

About Webair and/or Dreamhost. Wondering if these hosts have the latest zend optimizer (i think version 3) cause I need to check out certain scripts and the host I've been using up until now doesn't have zend optimizer 3 so it doesn't fly.

That $5.95 price is if you prepay for 10 years. If you go month-to-month it's $10.95 + $49.95 set-up ($60.90 for the first month). All the other plans have free set-up. The one-year prepaid plan is $119.40 ($9.95/month).

Here's my initial impressions from the past 2 weeks. The server's a bit faster than Dreamhost. I'm got a thumb MGP and a blog on Webair, and they're both coming up faster than similar pages I have on DH.

It's too soon for any insight on uptime or heavy traffic loads yet. I'm looking forward to seeing how it handles a Hun or Worldsex listing.

The control panel doesn't offer much. There's no one-click installs, cron-job manager or anything like that. On the positive side, customer support will do all that for you. Just tell them to install WP or set-up a cronjob, and it'll be done inside 24 hours (a little longer on the weekends).

I've been happy with Webair so far. Customer Service is excellent. I really wish you could combine the service and speed of Webair with the toys and features of Dreamhost.
