Question about free sites

You can point all your outbound links to your main site as long as you're using your own content and not some sponsor's content. Most people just point their links to sponsor sites because they suck at building a decent site to promote theirselves

Thank you. Also, it seems like some sites have the galleries actually built and hosted on the page builders server, whereas some link directly to the sponsors provided free site. Any protocol on this, or is it just up to the webmaster if he wants to host the content on his own server account or use a direct sponsor link? I can see where hosting the content yourself can be nice to keep your free site theme consistent.

Just about all link lists require you to have all your pages hosted on your domain. Linking to sponsor galleries will get you clobbered.

Seriously though... aren't these freesites supposed to be examples or showcases of what the visitor can find on the paysite? If I use my paid-for content to promote their paysite, what if the surfer wants more from the same series? What if there is a discrepancy in the quality of the content?

I usually put a link back to the root of my site on the main page of some of my freesites but you could probably put it anywhere as most LL's don't mind as long as you don't have to many outgoing links on a page.

Even though their is some good bought content around I think it's probably better for promotion to use content that the surfer will actually see when he signs up for the site.
