WordPress related question: Will I need to know HTML and CSS?
I'm going to be putting together my website using WordPress. I'm wondering if I'll need to learn HTML and CSS in order to perform basic maintenance and editing. In order to help answer that question, I'll describe what the purposes of my websites are:
I'm starting one or two different sites. The first one will be a blog site. I would like to be able to add and remove videos, pictures, and adds to the blog whenever i want. The second site would be one where I sell products, or an e-commerce site. I'll want to be able to add and remove images and videos and all the other items that need to be changed. I've heard a lot of good things about WordPress.I assume it's pretty easy to set up and maintain. In order to meet my objectives, would I need to learn HTML and CSS?|viking||viking|

The short answer: Yes.
The long answer: Depends. If you get pre-made templates, then you don't need to know much of either, but to get the best results it's better to basically learn CSS and HTML to the point where you can do minor things yourself (In the long run it's still worth learning, either which way) |

management and customization of any site template or plugin will require at least basic html/css knowledge.
it's not that hard to pick up though. |

With the invent of widgets I'm sure that there are some people who get by without any HTML or CSS knowledge but I wouldn't recommend it

No need to know CSS, but HTML is required!

Of course if you knew CSS you could fix it so that your site title stayed within the header graphic. Or if you like that size font figure out how to widen you blog so that the title text stayed within the header graphic.
But then again WTF do I know |
