It started off as a radio serial in the late 1970's (1977 I think, but I am not certain). It got adapted into a TV series in the very early 1980s (1981 I think, but again not 100% certain), and was novelised after that.

However the important dates are when that logo was first used. I have been following it since near the start but have not seen the Greenguy logo on it before that picture was posted.

I think the point someone is making is that if GG was using the logo first, then the estate of Douglas Adams owes him a lot in royalties, but if it appeared on the book first then GG owes them a lot of money
