I insulted the hell out of my father-in-law and the lesbian he's married to at a family dinner once. (Shocking, I know.) Everyone was discussing food, as people sometimes do while shoving themselves full of it, and the ugly step-mother-in-law started talking about how people should restrict their diets as they grow older in order stay healthy and live longer. That struck me as odd, so I replied pretty much to the tune of, "why bother living if you aren't going to enjoy it," and something like, "once you are within a couple of years of 70, you may as well eat what you want because you're going to be dead within a year or two anyway." That's when my father-in-law said, "I'm 69."
