Regarding browsers I've been MS free too, I still use Windows XP though, it still is one of the things or the only thing really good that MS has developed IMHO. I'm anxiously waiting for the final Windows 7 version, I heard the Beta version is great and stable, way better than Vista.

Well I finally upgraded to IE8..no problems yet. I also went and got a fix workaround from Microsoft for the XP Active X problem. It disables it or something.

BTW..has anyone heard of a trojan called SHeur2.APPL ?

Copied From Tech Support Guy Forums:

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.

If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.

Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.

The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.

When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.

Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)

The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.

Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Hope This Helps

Thank you. I went and downloaded that and apart from finding some minor things it said my system was clear. I was getting a virus threat warning whenever I tried to launch my Pirates of the Caribbean Online game. I finally figured out that AVG was giving me a false positive..its done that before with this game..and I went on the game forums and seems other people were having the same problem. So I just went into AVG and made my game launcher file an exception and now everything is back to normal. Probably AVG will fix this at some point. It seems to have a problem with the launcher for the Disney game.

I'm getting a bit better at techie things. LOL
