What to do with domains.

Whats the best way of letting go domains? Is it private sale or auction, or just dumping them? I've been cleaning out a bunch of domains that we collected but I know I'll never do projects on them now. I've just been not renewing them but it will eventually come down to domains that are somewhat good..or really good..but I still might never use them. Do you guys hang on to all your domains regardless? Seems a shame to have purchased them and then never used them only to not renew them years later..very wasteful

I've let a lot of domains go over the last year or so. Also a lot of my domains I'm depreciating and 301ing them to my LL.

Do you still own pregnanttrassexuals.com. lol

Try and get an account with fabulous.com and park the names there, if they don't earn their renewal fees then dump / sell them off cheap.

i've begun to actually build out domains that I've had around finally. Some i've let go, but mostly starting to actually act on all my late night domain ideas. Time to bring to life the ideas and make some more coin.

Electra! Bloody hell! How are you & Dravyk going along?

As for domains - park 'em. If they don't make the reg fee, then dump them.

I would recommend you to register on my site and list them for auction. It's free. Maybe there you can sell them...

Jeremy!!!! I remember exactly the last time I saw you...you came over to where we were having breakfast in The Venetian . It was lovely to see you and hear all your news.

Sadly, Dravyk died January 15th this year. He had been diagnosed with IHSS , which is a rare and very serious heart problem. He died suddenly while I was speaking with him on the phone. I've been sorting the business since then. Think I have the hang of most of what Drav did.

So what have you been up to? Didn't you guys move to Spain ?

Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear about Dravyk :-(( He was always a really good guy. That sad news puts any troubles one might have into sharp relief. It must have been very traumatic for you and I really hope you're okay? Let me know if you need anything :-)

Life has been "interesting" for the last few years - I finished up running Richard's Realm in 2003, ran the Netpond Links List until end of 2006 and have been doing stuff for myself since with varying degrees of success. I did live in France during 2000 but Spain must be someone else? I moved down under to Sydney with my lovely wife in early 2006. It's nice down here but you are a long way away from the rest of the world.

Yes, Harry was a good man...a decent man..that can't be said about everyone. He's very much missed. There's a memorial video here if you would like to look..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmMEq-nSLWc

I've always wanted to visit Australia..its such a long way to travel though. They say Sydney is one of the most livable cities in the world.
I think I have relatives in Australia..and New Zealand too I think.
I read that Australia has all kinds of filters and internet censorship going on. How does that affect your business these days?

That video made me sad and then some :-( I always found Harry to be kind and witty with a fine line in gentle self-deprecation. I'll raise a glass to Harry's memory.

Yup - it's a long way away. You don't realise it until you've been here awhile but to go anywhere out of Australia is basically a four hour flight from Sydney. If you're heading north, it takes that long just to leave the land mass.

The harbour and the beaches are just fantastic in Sydney, as is the coffee - we're really very spoilt in those regards. It's also mid-winter here and the last week has seen clear blue sunny skies and temps around 20 degrees (70f, or thereabouts?) - you have to go a long way to beat that. Overall, Sydney's pretty damn good really.

The Federal Govt keeps on wanting to implement internet filters to filter out the 'bad' stuff but so far the ISPs have said it's technically not feasible (yet) and too much incorrect stuff continually ends up on the Gov'ts 'bad' list. God only knows what'll happen if the Nanna Brigade actually get their way.

Australia has been trying to censor porn for the longest time...but it just doesn't seem to get anywhere lol.

There are a lot of countries jumping on the censorship bandwagon. China of course, think I read today that Iraq is cracking down..it has been lax lately. Must be a list somewhere of countries censoring porn on the net.

Anyone have any experience with PimpRolls domain parking?
Is it another back linking ploy for them or does anyone make any money?

Yeah...it really mounts up. We would have an idea and rush out and grab some domains and then for whatever reason never get around to doing the idea LOL Harry often said that we should get into the business of selling the ideas we had ..don't know if that would have worked. I have a notebook half full of ideas and future projects..don't know if they will ever get done now.
