![]() We're thinking about moving to Coral Srpings, FL or there abouts. Anyone have any comments for us?
The Ukraine QT and I have been thinking about moving a little closer to my mother. Mom's getting older, I want her to spend time with her grand daughter and I know I'm not hoping on an plane every couple of months. We were thinking about moving to Coral Springs, FL. Mom lives about 30 minutes north of Orlando but central FL seems boring and the crime rate of most cities around there is higher then the murder capital of the US. Coral Springs is reasonably close to the beach, no crime, pretty cheap and close enough to Ft. Lauderdale to play. I'm open to all suggestions on moving to Florida. |

I know a couple that lives in Eustes which is in the Orlando area. I called them yesterday & after the phone rang 5 or 6 times, they answered and apologized for taking so long - seems they were in the pool

I was in Coral Springs once and it seemed nice. I went there to close a store down for the company I use to work for (3 actually in Pampano Beach and some other close by area) and from I remember the locals were saying it was one of the nicer areas.
But I'm Canadian so what the hell do I know? LOL Good luck SirMoby. I'd move somewhere down there too if I were you. So you're gonna have a spare room right? |rasta| |

Good timing. Consider Clermont:
http://www.mystiqueshopper.com/clermont/ http://cityofclermont.com/ My buddy got a great house for 229k total...which is expensive there. But one of the highest rated home builders for Orlando according to JDPOWER. If you are somewhat close this house is on the market (or was a few days ago): http://www.mystiqueshopper.com/clerm...G_0104_JPG.htm If you are interested send me a PM and I'll forward the contact info. A guy from England put down $10k, but never followed up. His cousin who has a wife and 3 mos old got one for $162k 15 minutes away. His Mother is also selling her house in NY to move there as is her next door neighbor. It is literally a 30 minute drive from his house to the DisneyWorld, MGM, Epcot or Animal Kingdom parking lot. Didn't matter day of week or that it was spring break...or a really bad rain storm. It *feels* far removed from the tourist area though. Good luck. Wish I was there now. |

Coral Springs is about six miles north of me and about ten miles west of me, I live right next to Fort Lauderdale beach within walking distance.
It's a lot cheaper to live there then where I live and has some very nice parts and some not so great but still good parts. It rains in the west more then the east and is also a bit more humid with less of a breeze and more mosquitoes, but still all of this part of Florida rocks. You would be about 30 minutes, maybe less, from the beach. Here if you want to check out Home Prices. |

Rock stars ... is there anything they don't know?

Coral Springs is pretty much a bedroom community located northwest of fort lauderdale. It really doesn't consist of much other than residential areas and a mall. It has some nice areas, but I would recomend avoiding the areas that have a lot of rental properties. Those tend to be a little lower quality. If you want something a little higher-end, Boca Raton is just north of Coral Springs and it is more affluent. Also, there are a lot of nice areas south of Coral Springs (i.e. Weston, Davie, Cooper City) that I would probably recommend over Springs.
