yea, i use subdomains all the time and have no problems getting top ten google listings....
but what people tend to like are them better like this
yourdomain.co/asain/
not like this
asian.yourdomain.com

of course i also know PR is a load of bunk too...i've gotten top tens and even number ones in google from PR0 domains....do many of the 100+ factors that the SE looks at right, and you can get higher rankings...there is no magic bullet in SEs...it more like having as many of the 100+ bullets right that gets you the better listings..
even though adult top ten SE listings are much more harder to get than little mainstream ones(fiercer and far more compitition)..you can still get them
