Just back in from taking a neighbor to pick up her truck from the local mechanics' shop. Earlier I drove over to give her a ride back when she dropped it off. Round trip was under two miles on a very nice day. (Took them around 45 minutes to change fluids and filters, tune, diagnose and fix fuel problem. Good crew at that place.)

Not that anyone asked but I'm pretty happy with how Eudora handles my spam. I use Apple's Mail app for personal and mainstream things but I've used Eudora for business since the beginning. If spam is up it just means it'll take longer to pick up mail due to volume but I won't see most of it.

Its stats tell me 86% of the email I've received this year was spam. That was 294,791 spam messages out of 341,994 total emails received evidently. Around 833 spam/day. I do look at all those before deleting them but I let them build up to around 10,000 or so and then do a quick scan down the subject line with messages sorted by subject. Really easy to skip all the 'same subject line' spam.

In the year 2010 I've only had to rescue 72 good messages* from the Junk folder, and just 70 messages in 2009. Pretty damn good accuracy. For this month it's caught 15,171 spam emails so far (±750/day) compared to 23,802 for November (±790/day).

Anyone else out there want to compare stats.

Actually I was referring to the spam on the boards where I'm a mod but yeah email spam is up as well.

I was a big fan of Eudora back in the Mac classic days but haven't used anything but Mail since Mac X came out. Good to hear that Eudora has kept up with the times though.

Happy Solstice and Yule today! I really wanted to see the eclipse last night, but it was too rainy out.
