well for the mainstream stuff you want to promote se traffic should be your main goal IMO - well some may say I dont know any so I can not make this work - Wrong everyone still posting has it built into them and some dont even know it...

you just buy a domain, pick 4 words relevant with what your gonna start in and build a site on the root, 1 to whatever pages and just try and stay relevant and give your own unique opinion and then try and find sites that are again relevant to hard link trade with...and se traffic will come give it some time, and if it shows some promise then work the niches like in all the stuff that goes toghter with what your promoting and branch out and build a hub of good se traffic
