Good morning world

There was some shark talk on here recently, and the video below was just mentioned on one of our local discussion boards. I know we don't get many of the more aggressive or dangerous sharks here, but this might be a useful skill to have if you encountered even some of the friendlier ones.

Starts off like a screen-saver, then gets a bit more interesting by the half-way mark, and has a pretty amazing ending. (Note: nice in full screen size.)

Wishing a good day to all ... and good weather for Cleo's trip since we've been getting regular daily rainstorms down here (big one last night too).

Very cool video.

OK, be sure to bring shark treats, shark stainless steel groves, pet the shark's nose right above the scary teeth and hold very still whilst holding my breath underwater for 15 minutes or so since I won't have a dive tank... or gloves either.

That is the kind of shark that spooked us the other day. Looks like the video is taken over in the islands where they feed the sharks daily for the tourists and the sharks have become somewhat tame. Also from everything that I've read Caribbean Reef Sharks are not that interested in eating humans and attacks from them are extremely rare.

I remember hiking through national parks and doing weekly hikes California and being on the lookout from bears and big cats so it isn't like the ocean is the only place that things eat people. Florida alligators and especially crocodiles can be pretty aggressive when out in the Everglades.

Make sure to watch out for those hungry Key Deer while you are walking around your place.

Just finished loading the kayak trailer. Naturally a huge rain storm hit while we were in the middle of doing it and it only rained in our front yard and now the sky is blue again. We may actually get to use our new rain gear on this trip.

South Florida weather report for today. Scatted isolated rainstorms today. Scatted isolated rainstorms tomorrow. Scatted isolated rainstorms the day after and that is pretty much our weather report for the next month or so unless a hurricane hits us. At least it isn't so hot once the clouds move it.

Oh and BTW Florida is the number one state for lightning killing people. |shocking|

Marathon Key cam looks beautiful. Doesn't mean it won't be a storm from hell just as we get there.
