Good morning world

Just another day in paradise here too. I don't have anything numb or bleeding, just daily shin splints from trying to keep pace with my morning walk partner. Today is a work day, like most day's status would say. Hoping for some rain to cool things down later.

This sentence made me laugh twice. One for the idea of the Home Alone bandits breaking in, with you in neck brace and walker. The other, totally separate from the first one, was you in one of those "I've fallen and I can't get up!" commercials. *

I've seriously been thinking he doesn't read your morning comment before posting his own.

Wishing a good weekend eve to all.

P.S. It's also the eve of the 35th anniversary of the Blizzard of 1977. Now that was a wild time in Buffalo.

* yes, in both of those scenarios you were touching yourself when it happened.

Cool, now I can throw away that note to ask you which kind of kinky thing a GY is.

Don't tease me! Oddly enough, my balance is off from time to time due to my back being so tight/stiff. I've almost wiped out a couple of time climbing the 2 steps from my kitchen to the living room

I had just turned 6 & I have vivid memories of it. My Dad was stranded at work for 2 days. One memory that I love was being able to walk from a snow drift onto the top of the neighbor's garage, much like this pic from Wikipedia:

I was half-way through my 21st year and flew in to visit friends. I remember not being allowed to leave the airport because the danger level was too high at one point. We got out and eventually got to my friend's family's place before it got even worse.

Then the next day I remember my friends pushing their little brother out the second floor window and throwing a snow shovel after him. Of course he didn't fall far, since the snow was up to the second floor window sill.

His mission was to dig down to the front door and clear around it and then they'd come out and help dig a long tunnel to the sidewalk and street.

That day the National Guard took over. They wouldn't allow vehicles to be out on the roads unless you had at least four people in them. Evidently four is the magic number that prevents you from freezing to death if you're stranded/buried in the snow.

I also remember the Guard checking vehicle registrations to see who had snowmobiles and then going to those houses and commandeering them to use for patrols and rescues.

Fun times.

P.S. Looking at the file name on that pic reminds me of a girl from Tonawanda who I knew, very well in fact.

Jan. has been a blah month, I've been working hard but can't seem to see the fruits of my labor, thus far. Going to Los Angeles in a couple of weeks, maybe the change of scenery will serve me well.
