The joys of owning a house... Our water bill has gone up about $30 a month so we shut off all the water in the house and watched the little pinwheel on the water meter and saw that it is moving very slowly. So now we have to figure out what is leaking. All ready checked everything in the house and nothing so I guess it is a pipe under the ground. No idea how to find the leak other than to start doing a whole lot of digging.

There are services that will find underground water leaks so you know where to dig to fix it. They're often affiliated with pool maintenance services.

Yeah I used a service back when I first bought this house 30 years ago. That leak was under the house on the main line coming in and they had to dig a tunnel under the house to fix it. It was a big leak. I know it isn't that pipe this time because when I shut the main off to the house the meter stopped moving. It cost me thousands at the time so going to try to find it myself.

It's such a slow leak, like less than a gallon an hour, if that. Not sure they will be able to find something like that.
