One of the major benefits of having a text-based site is that it does pull quality traffic from the desired the nations.

I managed to figure what the issue was in my submission pages late last night, so I'm finally making progress on that front. Now, I need to simplify the page and remove all of the extra nonsense. Plus, the sites will need to be freshened up and and made responsive. So. Much. Fun. (I'm actually enjoying my hobby-ish re-entry into adult. I miss the old days.)

It's really strange how much you can achieve with so little. I'm coding and designing on a 9" netbook with 1 GB of RAM and a baby processor, running a free operating system. (And a corded mouse! ) Why? Because I have to. I could boot the big desktop (that is built with a server motherboard), but that monster requires me to use the generator while this little bitch computer runs happily without sucking by battery bank dry.

The most difficult aspect of trying to work in this tiny space the that fucking puppy constantly changing position. She just HAS to sit with me. Fucking HAS to.

I remember seeing something where it explained why we vote on Tuesdays. If I remember correctly, it used to be Sundays back in the 1800s because people had to travel great distances to get to their polling place & since they had Saturday's off, they could use that as a travel day. Then the church goers got all uppity about it being on a Sunday, so they moved it to Tuesdays. Why they didn't move it to Saturday when people were obviously off (travel day) is beyond me.

Which makes sense in some respects. It also didn't interfere with market days. Finland is primarily Lutheran, and we do have several church-based holidays that are recognized on the national level, like Epiphany, Ascension Day, and All Saint's Day. Yet, our national election day is on a Sunday. The church doesn't even protest it here. We do have early voting as well, and about 40% of the voters took advantage of it. Saturdays were still pretty much a work day on farms. At least on Sundays, everyone was out going to church (at least here) so stopping by the polling place was just easier. It works for us...
