I'm currently watching videos about SEO. I don't know why I'm doing this. Perhaps I enjoy being bored.
This is the gist of modern SEO:

Pay someone to get links for you.
Create a lot of content, because Google loves fresh content, but they won't care anyway.
Get social shares.
People who have more money to throw out will always rank better than you, so don't bother.
