Greenguy Jim Newsletter in html text
I've been getting your newsletter in my National Net web based email (squirel mail I think). Anyway, it's coming as HTML text (like if I did a view source on a webpage). Is there anyway to change my newletter settings to just text, or make the HTML show up like it should?
Also, why do some HTML based emails show up as text, and some as a "webpage"? I'm going to be starting mailings and want to figure it out. Thanks in advance!

I get at least 5 newsletters through my nationalnet email accounts without problems. You must have your email set to text only.

Yeah Jim - I have it set to "Show HTML Version by Default". I get some that come through as HTML. Just yours and Xbiz don't. Maybe I need to put a work order through the trusty nat net tech team?

Jim - he's reading it on web based email, not downloading it & reading it in Eudora or Outlook or whatever.
I noticed that my ISP's web based email doesn't convert our newsletter, as well as many others, into html - I have no idea why - LOL I know it works in the popular email programs ![]() |

It sounds like some html mailers add something to the mail header to help the mail client know it is html mail that the ones from GG&J aren't adding in.
It would help to compare the mail header both from one that did display and one that didn't. |

Hello Greeny! yep, I'm using the web based email.
Cleo - Yeah, now I think we're on the right track. I want to start sending out my mailers and don't want the same problem with mine. I've done a huge PURGE so I don't have a greenguy and Jim newsletter to compare to ones that work to (BTW - Xbiz DOES show up correctly, not like yours as I stated above). here's the only thing in the header of the Xbiz mailer that looks like it may have something to do with this: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="ISO-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit In the <HEAD> tage all I see that could be is this: meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" But like I said, I don't have one of your newletters to compare it too.

MIME-Version: 1.0 List: links X-Mailer: Dada Mail 2.8.12b Content-type: multipart/alternative; boundary="_----------=_1083959105231340"; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary X-UIDL: [*?"!3-o"!")i!!j3d"! I know it has something to do with the MIME in knowing to display it in the correct way but I'm not sure what it actually is. |
