Site penalized by google
Hi,
I wanna pay someone to get my site www.jamies-galleries.com off google banlist. I had a PR around 6 months ago, but after that - I've had 0. And I know I'm penalized, but have NO idea why. Reply here or icq: 162863896 . Thanks! Regards, |

If you are penalized, there is no simple way to get un-penalized. Anybody who accepts money to get you off is probably taking you for a ride.
Admittedly, someone could accept money from you in exchange of doing the half-dozen to several dozen emails and suchlike that would be necessary to get your case looked at. However, their chances of success would not be good. Your best bet? slash and burn. Abandon the name and start over with a new domain. You don't have to shut down the domain, if you don't want, but eventually you will lose your trades, because people will slowly realize you've got a perm zero and they will stop linking to you for fear that your zero might spread. You might not have a perm zero, could be too early to tell, but my brief initial look seems to support your idea that you are penalized. |

I cant give up that domain, I have a site running at 380ks+ there already.
But the wierd thing is that I used to have a PR 6 months ago or so, then I suddenly was set to 0 for no reason at all, no nasty trades or nothing ... I emailed google, and got a personal reply when they told me they had looked at my site - and they assured me that my site was not penalized by google. This was 3-4 months ago. But after that, nothing has changed, and I still ain't listed. |

Then the best thing to do is just wait. There are several things that might cause your domain to not be in the database.
What pr did it have before? It's not true to say you can't give up the domain, and move the site to another domain name. It would be a bit of work, but it's fully possible. If your tgp trades start dropping you, if it turns out to be true that you at stuck at perm zero, moving will be your best option. 3-4 months is a surprisingly long time to gain pr. Was there any strangeness in the way you purchased the domain name? Was it owned by someone else and transferred to your name? |

Nope, I was the first owner. I've had it for 3 years now. The PR used to be around 4-5 all the time, so I just don't understand anything. I got a tip of trying to call them, anyone tried that/had any luck?
Thanks for the replies ![]() Last edited by jamie55; 2004-06-01 at 07:48 PM.. |

Hmmm. Well, if I was a betting man I'd put a hundred on you being banned, with that story. My experiences looking over the shoulder of people trying to get unbanned from google tell me that google tech's response was just shining you on, because they have an unstated policy that adult sites should be ignored for such requests. (impo)
I think you may well be screwed. But, a phone call is a reasonable next step. Be prepared to work hard on the phones. I have heard that they will capitulate to people who bitch hard enough. That's a strategy with obvious risks, tho. |

Well that does suck. No searches for you show up at all. I'd call them repeatedly until you can talk to someone who can hopefully help you out.
Good luck and welcome to the board. |

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)

jamie55 - leave that domain up, but if you are in penalty, it is unlikely you will get back out - no matter how many backlinks you have. It may have been too many links from "bad nieghborhoods" that did you in.
Copy the site to another domain and start again. It sucks, but I've had to do this before. Shit happens.

A woman is like beer. They look good, they smell good, and you'd step over your own mother just to get one!

Possibly try to check all sites you link to that also were penalized. Like Jay mentioned, you may have been penalized for linking too many 'bad neighborhoods'. Get out of those hoods, and G MAY cut you loose after a while.
Just an idea... |

Hey Jamie,
That sucks. I know how you feel. I had a link list I registered and had up since January and only started accepting submits about 1 month ago, only to find out the domain is penalized. Pretty hard to get the domain unpenalized, I just moved my link list over to another domain. |
