Another nice things about FireWire is that you can daisy chain it so no hubs are needed.

Basically you can plug a FireWire drive into a computer and then plug the camera into that or just keep on adding devices. I often have 3 or 4 drives all plugged in like that. Most FireWire drives have two ports but things like cameras only have one so they need to be the last device on the chain. You can also use hubs if you want but they are not needed.

I would not worry so much about how it connects as to how many sensors the camera has. I've been shooting video for Angel and the difference between the single sensor cams and the 3 CCD video is dramatic.
