Hard time converting link list traffic?

I guess what I would like to know Greenguy and anyone else is do you track your ad techniques with tracking codes, see what ads convert the best, table ads, banners, banner placement, text ads etc... and therefore build your free sites according to those statistics and if so what types of sponsor ads have the highest conversions and or get the most click throughs? What sponsors seem to do the best with free sites. To me it seems like link list visitors blast right by the ads to get to the content more so than tgp's even though I know tgp traffic is worse. Its just my experiences and I have built a lot of free sites over the years. Any help, advice and answers to my questions would be highly appreciated. I have been doing this a long time but like everybody I am still learning. I just haven't spent as much time with free sites. I need to though. I just cannot seem to find my rhythm with free sites but I really want to improve sales with them. Maybe I could funnel the traffic to a more productive scenario as far as sales go and not try to sell as much on the free site itself.
