The biggest advantage to buying your own content is that your galleries will be something different. I reject a lot of submissions each day because they're using the same tired old sponsor content that 20 other webmasters have already submitted.

Another advantage to buying content is that you can also use it to make AVS sites. Those can be a big traffic source for upsells.
