Commodore 64 turns 25
I never had one, I had the Apple II and Apple II+ but you have to admire the Guinness Book of World Records, best selling computer.
Thinking about it, only 25 years old? I had an Apple II in 1978. I always thought the Commodore was about the same age. http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/ptech/12/07/c64/index.html |

Don't get discouraged; it's usually the last key that opens the lock...
|
The 64 was my first computer too. I was probably 6 years old, but that thing was the coolest...

Somewhat related, the History Chan. has a show of "1980's tech" and showed what was invented in the '80s like the PC, CD, walkman, VHS and Beta and talked how porn won the VHS/Beta war. It was a very interesting show; I just saw it 2 nights ago.

We used to have one of those. I remember playing Gorf on my grandpa's Vic 20. This makes me feel so old.

Used to have one of those, along with an Apple.
I remember playing Shamus to all hours of the night. FYI ...... In 1975, an IBM mainframe computer that could perform 10,000,000 instructions per second cost around $10,000,000. In 1995 (only twenty years later), a computer video game capable of performing 500,000,000 million instructions per second was available for approximately $500! |
