Sales per free site in average?

I am a bit curious about how many sells you guys generate per free site in average. As a newbie it would be great to know so that I know if my sites are good enough or if I should try to improve them. Of course I know it depends on how much traffic you get and so on, but just to get an idea would be terrific.

Sorry to be negative, but recently it seems like I'm lucky if I get just one sale per freesite.
Being optimistic I'd say it's probably 1-2 at the most. A year ago I would have said 2-3, and two years ago 3-4.

For me traffic is about the same but ratios are dropping fast. Not sure if this is the trend for most freesite builders out there at the moment.

Rather than scream at sponsors for declining ratios, I'm more inclined to believe that I need to change the way I build freesites. I have over 700 out there and I struggle to find new ways to sell the sites I promote.

I think, (hope), that the sales are still there, but my stale and boring designs need to change.

Well with the 25 sites I have build the last month I have generated one measly signup and have now changed both main sponsor and strategy - I really hope this helps.

Ratiowise I have 1:4200 with my main sponsor, and 0:1000 with another one and 0:500 with the third one I've used and the last one 0:250(which is my new main sponsor who offers an option with no cross sales - which I believe is a key factor).

So 1:5950 overall in 3 weeks and that would convert into 0.006 dollars a click - I definitely will not be able to make a living with that kind of a ratio.

I hope that it's due to my main sponsor having several cross sales that ratios has been that bad. I would like to tell you who my main sponsor is, but I don't want to bad mouth them as they could very well be doing really good for someone else.

I am actually shocked!

Sodo, I get sales from sites I submitted a year ago. I am by no means making a lot of sales, and like others feel very underwhelmed in by ability to make a buck in this biz, but I have found that the "sales per freesite" stat increases over time. I have also found that the initial rush of hits you get when you first get listed gets you nothing, but at a later date you often get a sale. I still have a lot to learn, but I am doing best with rebills with sponsors that have unique content.

Same here! In fact, yesterday I was shocked to see I made a sale with a sponsor on a free site I made ages ago. I made $59 on the one sale and was very happy!

When I was into the business 8 years ago it was ridiculously easy to get sells with my poor designed sites. Especially AVS traffic was golden! As everybody says it seems not to be the case anymore. I've got about 15 sites and have managed to get 4 sales with one sponsor in 1103 clicks (1:213) and 0 in 216 clicks with the other.
Seems like I just have to carry on the hard work then.
I think my biggest problem is traffic at the moment, it is not easy for a newbie to get listed at some of the link sites it seems.

I don't know if Fetishhits is that widely used on tube sites.

Fetish Hits is my top-performing sponsor by a long way, with an all time ratio of 1:618, (that's since March 2006). However, I'm not getting anywhere near that ratio with them lately. (1:1637 for 2009)

Not sure about tube sites, but I think that they're used quite heavily by freesite & gallery builders, although I might be wrong.

Ratios definitely aren't what they used to be. Probably a combo of the poor economy and all the freely available sponsor content on torrents/illegal tubes.

Well of cause when you start getting worried about your main sponsor you suddenly get 2 signups LOL - May be I need to worry some more LOL!

Ive just recently started getting 4 sites a week submitted. And between main sponsor and secondary sponsors on the free site Im averaging 1 sale per submit.

I have found that the more frequently I check stats, the fewer sales I get.

Seems like if stop checking stats for a week or two, I always get a signup. When I check everyday, I get nothin'

kelle, i never checked sales per submit, and it could be me but i've never had much luck using ccbill trackers, but to start with, i'd say try to get 1 sale a day, then 2 etc etc

i run into the same problem, not getting listed, i don't hunt for free passes, thats a problem, maybe you do...ad's cost money etc etc

I completely agree with what LusciousDelight said. Some of your free sites will never make sale some other with generate a lot of sales during the years and as more you have out there the more you can make. I started submitting free sites in 2005 and i still make sales from sites built at that time. The first traffic you get directly from link list is not so profitable, you may make some sales from it but i think the most comes with time and the search engine traffic. One of the main secrets of success is to build sites that are as much SEO optimized as possible, i don't think that if you are building them with no optimization at all you'll have enough profit from LL traffic only. These days free sites don't generate as much sales as before and it's caused by many reasons but i think that one of the main is that they can't get so good SE placements and traffic nowadays and that's why they need a heavy and creative optimization

My ratio with them have changed too, but its because they changed the way they count the clicks from second page to first page hits. And the crisis lately makes it even harder to get nice ratio

Fetish Hits is a great sponsor, in my opinion, and definitely one of my favourites. Loads of content, fast support, some of the best ratios, and no problems with cheques.

I have to give credit to fetishhits, ratio is acceptable now considering the worlds financial situation, of cause I would like it to be better, but who wouldn't, the good thing is if we're at an all time low then things should improve for the rest of the year :o)
