My First Batch of Galleries

Here are some of the galleries i've been building.

Can I get some opinions. Are they Nice, or just so so, or bad. They can't be bad, they don't look much different than most out there.

Anyone notice any issues that may get me declined when i submit them?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the galleries, you have 4 outgoing links.

There are some TGPs that may accept 4 outgoing links, but the majority only accept up to 3 outgoing sponsor links.

I would suggest always removing the underlined link text (makes it easier to read, but that's just me).

Also, I would suggest adding a 1px border around the image, as it distinguishes them better and makes your layout look cleaner.

They look nice

You do need to keep the links to a minimum since galleries are often checked by scripts that just look at the <a> links.

Also you images are huge. Do them 600 to 800 max on their longest side.

Some TGP sites do not like links to sponsors placed between pictures' rows...

What ?!? Which TGPs do that?

I'd say every 3 out of 4 TGP galleries place sponsor links in between pictures rows.

Thanks for the input. Made some changes; added the 1px border (looks far better), dropped the sponsors links down to 3 and resized the larger pics to 800 or 600 wide.

Thanks again

Question Next Question

OK. so i removed some links to sponsors, now there is only 3. BUT I am putting a small link on the bottom to the sponsors 2257 info page. The page is clean with no extra ads but will that count as a fourth link to the sonsor?

Or will I have to begrudgenly have to create my own page for this? Or can I omit the 2257 link altogether in galleries. I notice one of my sponsors (Canadian site) does not even have a 2257 link on their site.
I'm in Canada, how does the law apply to me?

Just give them the address to the 2257 info, but don't link it.

Comus thumbs 2257 info: http://comusthumbs.com/2257info.html

It's not really clear if you'd be penalized for not linking a 2257, but I've seen galleries that do what Lemmy states.

Your galleries look nice. Thanks for the info. on needing to keep sponsor links to about 3 Joe and Cleo. I'll have to make sure my advertising is placed so it can be covered by just a few links.

I thinks they're o.k.

Several rules mentioned above are rather elastic (you can stretch them like a rubber band), things like no advertising between pictures... Usually means people don't like a large block of advertising between images, but if from whatever position you look at the page you clearly see the next row/block of thumbnails BELOW the advertising then it seems to be o.k. with most... I tend to put text between images, but I hardly ever link it, since surfers seem to scroll to the end anyhow (or close the gallery on first sight).
The other day I came across a site not permitting 'animated GIFs' and still listing my gallery; I keep my GIFs usually rather simple, not too "loud", and with slow transitions (so they're less annoying).

http://www.picxs.com/webmast.html - and let me know that you're from ggandj... (I don't list all GimmePink galleries anymore - too many)
