Pimproll bans email advertising of all types

Quote:
EMAIL PROMOTION IS NOT TOLERATED

Sending traffic from email will result in immediate termination and all monies forfeited.

PimpRoll accepts no email promotion OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER.

Any traffic from email will result in immediate account cancellation and forfeiture of all monies.
This a bold move... maybe an indication of things to come? PRdave has made it clear on other boards that this includes mailing updates for a site that has PR banners or promotions on it.

Makes you wonder if the FTC isn't handing out advise to people!

Simple business decision with the longevity of the program in mind.

I liked this one also at another sponsor.

Not a bad move huh?

Tickler, it's always been grounds for termination for altering, or causing to be altered, links leading to PimpRoll that are not your own. Such as through third-party programs and such..(spyware etc) It's been in the TOS, just not as a press release.

Look for more good things as well. We want good honest webmasters, and we want to help them make more and better sales.

Great stuff.

Very nice to see the sponsors taking the stand. Seemed many turned a blind eye.

Bout time huh?

But will this hurt legit webmasters with say double opt-in, like newsletters?

Unfortunately that is very true. Plus there are some morons who sell their webmaster list for some unknown reason. I get about ten spams a day to one particular email address that was only ever used to sign up to a particular sponsor. I wonder where they got it from?

I think it's great news, and it made me look ar their sites. They've got some that will be really useful on some of my niche domains. I'm not sure why I haven't been promoting them, but I don't see many w/ms pushing them. I guess that means they make them too much money and they don't want any more competition.

ronnie, *NO* email promotion is allowed.. double opt in, triple opt in.. doesnt matter. Absolutely none.

What will happen is an account will be flagged, and the affiliate notified so they can explain and be made aware that such promotion methods are simply no longer allowed.

Newsletter senders will simply need to remove PimpRoll from their lineup.

Glad to hear the positive feedback, and people deciding to finally check it out that havent. If you need any help, let me know.

I think this is a trend you'll see spreading.
