All hosts say they have one of the safest data centers in the world. I knew a place in an apartment that advertised that
![]() However, most are pretty safe from such things so I don't think you have much to worry about really |

I would more worry about what they have for emergency power in case they loose theirs for an extended time. That and if they have more then when fiber coming in incase one goes out.

It looks like their servers reside at ev1servers. It looks like they have 3 locations... Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas, so I guess it just depends on where yours is. The biggest threat wouldn't be power in Houston, it would be storm surge... especially if the servers are on a first floor location. If you have a 3 feet raised floor, and get 4 feet of water... then you have a problem!

i recieved this last night so i am more relaxed and all my sites are up this is from the DC:
This message is from our data center director: All possible steps are being taken to ensure the smooth running of servers during this storm, though it is possible there may be some downtime due to this natural disaster. Disaster planning is currently and has been underway for some time. We will operate our core services with a limited staff so that the bulk of our employees can be with their families. A core staff of approximately 25 will be on hand in the DC throughout the storm. This includes a facilities specialist as well as an a/c specialist. DC staff will be on hand to handle emergency repairs and tickets. Routine tickets and upgrades will most probably have a delayed response. As an extra precaution, we have sourced an additional rental generator. While this unit would not be needed for a brief outage, if we were to experience a loss of power lasting several days, we would need to perform normal maintenance on our generators, and this would give us a generator to run while that maintenance is taking place. Maintenance such as oil changes is required under our operating specifications every 100 to 150 hours, meaning that we would need to perform maintenance sometime after 4-5 days. All total, we have in excess of 10,000 gallons of fuel on site. We have guaranteed contracts for fuel delivery and two fuel depots are located within 2 miles of our facility. We anticipate that the coming storm will have no impact on our operations. However, we are prepared to deal with any eventuality. Our buildings are designed to withstand Cat 4 conditions. It would be a highly improbable situation for us to sustain a cat 4 this far inland. It is anticipated that we will see high Cat 3 conditions .... based upon the current track and our location. All our providers have disaster and contingency plans and we are in contact with them ensuring that our mutual emergency contacts. Due to evacuations and limited staff, ticket responses will likely slow during this situation. No upgrades will take place until we restore complete operations. New server purchases will be limited to that on hand and no new servers will be placed into service. Thank you for your understanding. so i am pretty sure i am ok will see later tonight--looks like they have plenty of fuel, seems strange we have tons of fuel for porn but all the people on the highway are stranded and have none ??? what a world
