I think it'd be ok as long as the text links aren't blind. BTW, your header is a bit on the large side.

I agree with ladydesigner. I like the thumb layout.

Though I don't think the header is big enough... if it doesn't fit on the entire page at 1028 screen resolution, what's the point anyway?
