Spyware is Killing our industry. Proof inside! Long Thread and VIDEO

Spyware is killing this industry. Please READ the text below carefully and please watch the movie we have made and make sure you check out the links below was well!!!

That time has come where we MUST unite and take down, destroy, stop those who are killing our industry as we know it.

Its no secret that the past few months had been horrible to say the least, all our hard work has been stolen right from under our noses. Some people know what's going on, some do not. For those who do not, its time to make them aware.

Until last week we to were skeptical and like many, we were blaming the economy. Very stupid of us, porn like drugs is NOT affected by the economy. If they want their fix they will get it, no matter what. Back to last week….a program owner contacted us with information from one of their affiliates who was installing spyware via downloading a codec off movie galleries. Low and behold we had the same affiliate.

This affiliate stood out above the rest simply because of his ratio. He was doing 0:40,000, and he had been an affiliate for 3 weeks. This is 40K to the tours off of gallery traffic, I spoke to other owners as well and 5 programs had confirmed the same finding. They all avg'd from 20-50K to the TOURS. Just with these 5 programs we are talking anywhere from 100000 to 250000 to the tours. Even at 2% gallery click through that's 5000000 to 12000000 of gallery traffic. Now how many more programs are they sending traffic to? The amount of traffic these guys have is STAGGERING. This is our traffic , the same traffic we buy spots and passes on, The same traffic we submit to. The same traffic we make a living from.

How is it the same traffic?

Because they are trading with a lot of the sites we have know for and worked with for years. Most TGP owners don't know they are trading with these spyware bandits. At the end of this thread I will post all the links that pertain to this matter, I ask that EVERYONE look closely at them and look at your trades, time to clean up.

How does it affect your sales?

Let me first explain what they are doing. Most of the installs come from movie galleries, what they do is they download and host your hosted galleries and instead of a movie, they link to a codec. When YOUR surfer clicks the movie he is asked to DL the codec to be able to watch the movie. Once they install it, that surfers is lost until he formats his PC. The spyware takes over most of his browser capabilities and sends the surfer everywhere but where he wants to go. The traffic is used to their advantage is cases such as…..they send it to their TGP's and sites to feed them and their sponsors. The sponsors range anywhere from porn to PPC adword type programs. They are also able to overwrite YOUR affiliate codes with their own.

Not only are we losing our clients via redirect but we are losing all our clients trust and confidence that we worked so hard building. Once the surfer gets infected with this shit, do you think he will trust a porn site again…..do you think he will whip out his credit card to for a site he does NOT trust?

Who is paying for these downloads? The one program who kept coming up is www.videoscash.com. If you find their affiliates are using your content to do this all you need to do is send them a CD. A C&D from a lawyer can cost anywhere from $200 to $500, please look into this.

There are also friends among us who are buying this redirected traffic and affiliate ID swap! Who are they? Watch the video, click the links, follow the trades J Im sure you will be able to come to your own conclusions.

Here are some samples of the Downloadable codec (they don't auto install):

Links and names:

Most of these links and names were found in our program admin and those of our friends as well ( simply followed the links and came across most of their network)

Aff id: dinamo18, Andrey

hotdailynudes@yahoo.com

Domains of galls we found containing the codecs:

click-adult.com, teensdot.org, virtualadult.net, best-porn.us , earthsex.org, teensgalls.com, virginzclub.com, pornoplane.com, accessadult.net, partyadult.net, basicadult.com, playadult.net, time-adult.com , host-adult.net, use-porn.com, drive-porn.com, land-porn.com,

***IMPORTANT*** Watch the video, every time a click get redirected to a tgp it uses finder-fast.com . Finder-fast.com looks like an alias to his TRUE TGP's to which he is feeding.

Videos Can Be Found HERE: http://www.pornspyscam.com/

I suggest that you do what we did, infect a pc. Surf your sites, video tape it and go see your lawyer.

I hope we have made more webmasters aware of this HUGE problem and I hope we can all work together in stopping this shit from happening and GAINING BACK THE TRUST OF OUR SURFERS!

Why are threads like this started by people with one post?

Search the board for "zango" - we're pretty up on spyware (and pretty against it)

What's really sad is that this has been going on for a LONG time.. videoscash has been known to be doing this for a LONG time...

I posted over a year ago on the zoo, that gallery/free site submitters are also involved with this and that it's tied into some well known scammers/spammers. Barely anyone read the thread...

I can check (or use my scripts to do the check) pretty much ANY site and find galleries/free site that are being used to do this.

No one is doing anything to truly solve the issue. I suspect it's because no one really knows "what" to do about it.

And this has nothing to do with zango.. This is a bunch of criminals using our traffic, our submissions, to set up their zombie networks of PCs and also the more insidious ones that take over the users PCs and change DNS entries etc. etc. etc. We're culpable in the proliferation of all that spam we all get. Zango is freakin tame compared to this stuff.

I know this isn't Zango - I was just using that as an example

The best thing we can do with programs like videoscash (I think they have been mentioned around here before) is not use them.

It just aggravates me when someone joins the board & their 1st post is a diary of how so & so is bad.

Well, presumably the guy is going around trying to drum up publicity for his issue.

I still think it's interesting.

As I recall, Alex was angry about the codec trick.

I'm a little uncertain exactly what is supposed to be done about this, tho.

I don't doubt the scumware assholes are fucking things up for the average legitimate adult small businessman.

I'm still looking for the best ways to deal with it - because I tend to think appealing to the sponsors is likely to be a waste of time. They'll kill the account and happily let the installers sign up again. Pretty much the same with the hosts.

Agreed, but the reality is that it doesn't matter to them since they're stealing our sales via swaping out affiliate codes, taking over the surfers DNS and redirecting them to their own sites and or 'fake" join pages to get CC info, they use it to set up bot networks to send out their spam... We're nothing more than a source of traffic for these people.

The only thing we as WMs can do is tighten up our "networks" to ensure we only deal with known entities and don't let anyone unknown in. If we accept submissions, ensure the "trust" factor is high on all levels (the WM, their sponsors, their hosting etc.).. And write far more complex software and systems to detect "cheaters" and their networks etc.

Other than that, it's really up to the sponsors, i.e. always follow the money.. They need to seriously audit their affiliates.. The processors really need to audit the companies dealing with them as well.

But everyone is so busy chasing the dollars bills for today, I don't really see anything major happening.

I hear ya too

Back to Zango as an example: we find a way to inform surfers they're "infected" & they know about it because it's hard to inform everyone but them - lol - so they find a work around & we're back to where we started.

I agree that everyone should be looking at who they trade with & whatnot - it's just like we're fighting a loosing battle...but we keep fighting none-the-less

yeah I agree it's interesting, and it's not zango

I think the only way to get this shit under control is to get the proper authorites to form a task force and ban these crooks from ever owning a domain, but I'am sure that will never happen cause the other countries where these people live will not do anything about it...

so if there's a safe haven for terrorists then I am sure there's one for internet crooks

I think all this spyware torjens and scumware is gonna kill us lower traffic webmasters down the road as when people get tried of paying to have there drives reformated more will quit surfing porn and buying, and that will lead to less sales

some could say that porn is like drugs, so if a drug user gets beat up most of the time looking for his fix, how long before he quits looking

plus how many times have you heard people say "if you surf porn your pc will get fucked up" LOL

I hate the advice "format your PC" though. I've had a bunch of computers over the years and all of them were infected with some shit at one point or another, but I've never ever formatted anything. Simply running a few programs (Spyware S&D, Adaware etc) will take care of 90% of the shit and the rest of the time a few searches online will help you out once you know which processes are running. Sure there may be some particularly nasty rootkits and viruses around, but most of the time spyware is pretty easy to handle. Telling people to format their PC is like telling them Doomsday is here every time they see a popup that shouldn't be there. What they should be told is what programs to install and what to do if their computer is behaving weird. The simple advice "Never use Internet Explorer" is also pretty helpful.

Were you having a bad day you miserable sod

I can see where you are coming from but at least it is a first thread worth reading and it is always good to have new posts like this every now and again isn't it? Sometimes a newbie can come on board, see a thread like the Zango one and feel it is too large to read through. They are more likely to read a new one like this and then move on to threads like Zango JMHO...

At worst it is a nice long thread that may just pick-up a few more search engined visits..

The only problem with someone shooting their load on the first post is there never seems to be any follow up. After reading the post, I have a few question but, why bother?

I was thinking about this and with people around like Matt Cutts and his blog why not see if Google can do anything to warn others... I say this because a friend of mine had her site hacked. I am not sure of the finer details but if you visit google and type in http://www.abtext.co.uk (with the http://) Google lists the site with a large text warning below linking it to http://www.google.co.uk/support/bin/...snum=1&ct=help

Does anyone know of specific software that will remove the above mentioned spyware? Does Spysweeper do it? I agree with MightyMidget, if we all put links to the appropriate software (hey, maybe they have an affiliate program...or we could get them to create one for us) it would at least get the word out in our little part of the web world.
