TGP submission effect

Hi,
I don’t visit this forum as often as I perhaps should, but I would imagine that anybody that posts TGP submission and also keeps a close eye on their stats would notice that all those back links to your mirrored galleries seems to increase the value of the ‘host’ URL amongst most of the Search Engines. Yes, no?

Well this is what I have experienced, that is except for the most important SE - Google. It doesn’t surprise me that Google doesn’t pick up on this the same as other SE’s, I know Google values the written word on the page, and takes notice of keywords strategically placed amongst copy, perhaps more than the other Search engines do. But what I want to know is that although the mirrored galleries hosted on one particular URL help with Search Engine placement for the other Search Engines like Yahoo, but is this same benefit actually detrimental when it comes to trying to get a placement on Google.

I mean I may pack the root index.html file with relevant copy and keywords and do the same for all subsequent linking pages, and expect for Google to start picking up all my marvelous well written and optimised copy, but would the fact I also have folders named ‘galleries’ that are stuffed with mirrored pages that link to and fro from various TGPs hurt my attempts to attract Google. Or maybe Google just doesn’t give any credit at all to a back link that comes from a TGP?
