Completely New!
I'm Dave. I am a 19 year old college student / entrepreneur that would love to try to get into the business. As much as I would love to start my own supersite or network with my own exclusive content, I know that's not realistic. I figure that the best way to get on the right track to that overall goal would be affiliate sites. So I have been looking into a lot of affiliate sites like BangBrosOnline and NastyDollars. My reason for coming here is to learn as much as I can from the guys that are working on these and already have their feet wet in this business. My previous experience is owning a few sports sites and a ticket site starting when I was 15. I'll start with a few basic questions.
1. To apply for an affiliate program, what do you have to already have in place to get accepted? 2. Is this the best way to get my start in the business? 3. What is the ballpark cost to get an affiliate site started? (Assuming that I pay for the best designer / software or scripts that I can find) 4. Is it better to get an affiliation with the big kahunas like BangBros and RK, or are their better options out there? Sorry for the long read and thanks for any input that you might have to get me going in the right direction! Dave |

1. You need a site like a blog or tgp 2. best way to start is with a blog then maybe a tgp or mgp/movie site. From there once you learn traffic generating you can maybe move onto other things. 3. Next to nothing. You need a host and that's it. Start with blogs, word press is free and there are a lot o free templates. Hosting is cheap to start! 4. Nothing wrong with bangbros and the big companies but keep in mind they may be promoted by a lot of people so your surfers may have already seen these sites. Sometimes it is better to mix in a lot of unknown sites that will entice a surfer to join. |

This affiliate biz is all about matching traffic to content. Doing that requires learning which small details make a big difference, and which ones don't.
It's best to start out promoting something that you like yourself. For example, if you're into big titties like Ramster, then go with that. The theory being that you'll be better able to sell something you know more about allowing you to place more focus learning all the other details. Last edited by Toby; 2010-06-16 at 03:41 PM.. |

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)
|
1. Altough most sponsors require a url in their signup form, many do not. But one of the first steps you take should be to get yourself a domain and hosting.
2. Any start is a good start. You dont have to have a blog, you can simply create any html page and do whatever you want with it - but having a blog just makes everything easier. You can then setup your blog to automatically update using rss feeds. This way you wont have to waste time updating the site yourself every day. Then you can spend more time finding what works best for you. 3. I wouldnt pay anyone at this point, and I wouldnt use any paid software or scripts either. Before you invest more then you need to, try the free route. So the start up should cost you a domain name and hosting. I wont list any prices as these vary. Shop around. 4. Hard to say. You dont have any traffic or anything at this point. So I would suggest you signup for different ones in different niches and find what works best for you. This can be a very difficult process, so stay strong, stay motivated and have fun. Good luck. |

Shut up brain, or I'll stab you with a Q-tip!
|
The three post above provided you with some great advice.
My only comment would be, that if you don't get approved for a site, do contact the affiliate program. The more dialogue you have with a program the easier it will be for you to sell their products. Most sponsors are willing to provide you with assistance. |

Thanks for the help everyone! I ended up getting lucky finding a domain last night and started working immediately. I registered www.HDVidTube.com and purchased a license with TubeAce. Chris from TubeAce was very helpful and installed it for me so its already up and working on my new host. I'm finally going to get some sleep but as soon as I get up tomorrow I will be applying for a lot of different affiliations. I'll keep you guys posted

I was going to offer some suggestions, but I guess i'll save them for someone who isn't pushing a tube script.
