Need some advise from anyone who has worked or been associated with an escort agency.
First, it seems that all of these things charge a few for drivers, supposedly for a "security deposit." One place, based in Anaheim, CA, is a "referral service." They place ads in various adult publications and papers, for people that are looking to hire a driver. The fee covers advertising. I'm refraining from using the actual company name, address, and number, but can PM it, if anyone wants.
I am now convinced these people are a scam. I call Wed (12/15), and just get voice mail. Call Thur, and finally got through, to be available; no calls. Fri, I called the "associated partner," who gave me his number, since we were unable to reach the main guy, Tuesday (when I enrolled). At first, I thought I got through, but my call was instantly dropped, like I was hung up on. Then, straight to voice mail. Saturday and Sunday, just voice mail. Was busy with the Veterans Affairs, Monday. I finally got through today, and "JR" was pissed. I said, very politely, that all I wanted was a status. He cops this attitude about he's not going to feel guilty, or be on a guilt trip, right from the start! He says he's been doing this for 31 years (supposedly), and I call to make myself available, but he doesn't have to call me back unless he wants to, and that I'm not to call Paul, when it was Paul who gave me his number! I think I'm going to post on some boards, and ask your thoughts. After JR's RUDE response--I would think, as an indy contractor, when I call, politely requesting a status update, after a week of no business--that I acted professionally. I'm very tempted to go down to their ruthole, and demand my FULL refund, or to call 911, and let the cops sort it out, and see if maybe "JR" or any of his crew have any outstanding warrants or other investigations. I'm still rather angry, but before I do anything, I wanted thoughts of people who have been in the industry a while, and have given me, and others, good advise on the industry in general. Thanks for your time. I'll check for replies, PMs, at least once a day.

I don't think a lot of people of this board have a lot of dealings with the workings of an escort service.
Just about everyone on this board markets porn which is in the adult services but doesn't have anything to do with escorting. |

A good rule of thumb.. When a co. is asking for a set up fee or registration fee for a job. It's usually a scam.
I've worked with an escort co. and the drivers usually pick up the girl at the beginning of their shift. Then they wait for the call from the dispatchers while they are in the field. IMO this should be done locally. not far away where you cant go to their office and collect $$ or choke the guy who's giving you a hard time.
