You know I was thinking I could give you space on http://cleocrap.com . It's run on an old antique Mac laptop, never gets backed up, only has a few hours of battery backup, and is only connected with a 256k upload ADSL line, but it would be real cheap as far as cost of hosting goes. :D

We use http://www.splitinfinity.com and we're VERY satisfied. Not only do we get personal cell phone numbers of the techs, but we can also send text messages to their cell phones via Sprint PCS on the web. So if my server is down, I just go to sprintpcs.com and type in a text message to him and it's back up within usually about 5-10 minutes.

We rarely experience downtime and the longest we've ever been down was for about 20 minutes. We're VERY VERY happy with them and the price kicks ass too!

Extreme John 2003-09-01 04:04 PM

So has this been resolved guys??

Ramster 2003-09-01 04:24 PM

Phatservers is my host and those guys are great. Good small company that will work with you on a personal level and good prices too. So good luck with the move.

Greenguy 2003-09-02 02:42 AM

Nothing gets resolved over a holiday weekend - LOL

Jim & I both have calls to make today - from the looks of it, most of my stuff will go one place, Jim's stuff, this site & some of my other stuff will go to another - there's even other things thrown into the mix that are still up in the air.

One thing I know for sure - this will be the LAST time I switch hosts - too much fucking stress.

Jim 2003-09-02 04:49 AM

Switching hosts isn't so bad as long as you do it in your own time. But switching the way we did was awful :)

Hey, don't move without letting me beat the quotes that you have already gotten!

How much bandwidth do you need to go with the three servers?

Thanks,

gawd i HATE that.. why not just give the BEST price the 1st time..

red flag for me, always. that means you didn't give me the best deal and are trying to compensate by under cutting the competition but what else will be compromised with that??

just my opinion.

manilaheat 2003-09-02 05:01 AM

DocHolly --

I haven't quoted anything yet ... So yes, it will be my first quote ...

I am simply trying to find out how much bandwidth they are using so I can accurately quote them.

The first sentence was a joke, jezzz ...

I sent our proposal a while ago. Let me know if you have any questions regarding it.
guess that was what threw me off..

manilaheat 2003-09-02 05:13 AM

OK DOCHOLLY ---

DID YOU GET A COPY OF THE PROPOSAL?

It had no mention of the PRICE and simply outlined what type of service that we can offer....

The email ended by asking them how much bandwidth they needed.

I said that I sent them a PROPOSAL not a QUOTE...

What is your problem with me anyway?

DH, Cant say I agree, if I were GG&J and asking mostly about Service moreso than price I would expect to hear what services could be offered to make me consider doing business with a certain somebody, than once I know my service needs can be handled THAN I go ahead and move on to price, qyuality is first for me and looks like it was for Jim and GG on this one.

In James' defense, Ive been with Tulin for 2 years now, they handle 20+ of my servers (growing almost daily), I do over 400mbps with them, and Im not going to say EVERYTHING is always cherries with a hint of Bannanas and Strawberries, what I can say is that when I moved to Tulin I told James on the phone, I expected this to be my final move, I couldnt be happier, I dont get commision for referring people, and everyone I have EVER referred has always been happy (because lord knows that shit can come back to haunt you), that means a lot to me because people know who I am, if I piss someone off it comes back 10 fold, James is honest and works hard to ensure that any issues I may have are resolved quickly, shit if I wanted to I could call him at 3am and ask him about a part for a server I saw on Ebay, he wouldnt get pissed, wouldnt care and would be more than happy to help, that type of 1 on 1 business service doesnt exist today.

Thanks, again, for all of the kudos from our friends and customers....it sure makes us feel good to know that our hard work is paying off for you!!!

GG and Jim....before you make any decisions please give me the opportunity to show you why all of these people love NatNet.....we are the ones that people turn to when they are tired of dealing with hosting problems. Let us show you why our retention rate is probably the best in the business.....once you are part of the NatNet family, wild horses won't take you away!!!

Anyone else want to add a "Give me or us a chance" comment?

Has anyone tried sending flowers? Perhaps little Green candies?

|waves| Hello Jim,

I just wanted to make sure that Candid Hosting.com had it's hat in the ring for |GreenguyA business!

Thanks in advance and good luck with the search,|peace|

Jim 2003-09-02 04:14 PM

Hi Mark|waves|
Good talking to you today :)

FleshlightDan 2003-09-03 09:07 AM

Fleshlight has been hosted by Tulin for a couple years. We've experienced enormous growth during this time. Tulin has been more than just a host for us; they’ve been a Hosting Partner and have played a huge role in the facilitation of our growth.

Their pricing is hard to beat and the service they provide cannot be matched. If you're just looking for somewhere to park your servers, the choices are plenty. My business would not be where it is today without Tulin.

Gluck with the move!
