What makes or breaks a gallery?
OK guys, I am posting this thread in various other boards to get some info for my next article for the Adult Buzz Blog I want to hear your ideas and opinions on what makes a good gallery and will get accepted and bring in sales to the submitter.
As an Adult Webmaster; what makes or breaks a gallery? What elements makes the whole process of the gallery building a success? Thanks for your input! bunky2u Check out the Blogged articles here: Adult Buzz Blog |
hi
heres my 2 cents
from tgp owners point of view original good quality content (not necessarily exclusive - just stuff i havent seen a ton of times) original fast loading gallery design good accurate description content fits category nice quality thumbs fast server from submitters point of view #1 - good converting paysite tour content that makes them want to click to the sponsor for more like this - but wont quite get them to cream their jeans. even if they dont join right then they may recognize my gallery template and content quality and join if they click my next gallery a few bad things would be sponsor provided content that tgp owner has seen 100 times. low quality sponsor provided screen caps (ive had a gallery submitted to my tgp that had a fuzzy out of focus screen shot of the arm of a chair and part of a foot... i got a laugh out of it that day, but some days its reason enough for me to hit the blacklist button. if the submitter wont take the time to at least examine the content on the gallery im not going to waste my time reviewing it) not giving an accurate description, lieing on your description or a description that makes no sense. for my tgp i want a good and accurate "DESCRIPTION" of what is happening in the pics or vids. not a sales pitch, not a riddle, not a lie, just tell the surfer what the gallery is of. thats all i can think of. basically, good content and a good paysite tour. and then all the other stuff i said :) lol |
almost anything that is not: Tranny Island, Backseat Bangers or Banging the boat, bus etc.

I think simple and clean lines are important. Some submitters make the mistake of being overly creative in their design. They intentionally stagger the thumbs or use far too many colors. Staggered thumbs almost always look like the page fell apart rather than looking cool, and too many colors is just an eyesore. Two and three colors are typically best. I'd go with four at a max. Any more than that and you're a failed attempt at mimicking Picasso.
I am a believer in minimal content. I hate seeing TGPs with rules such as 20 pics minimum. I think 10-15 pics should do it. I build with 16 only because everyone makes me.:D With twenty pics, you may as well drop to your knees and blow the surfer yourself. If he can't get off on 20 pics he isn't getting off on 10,000 pics either. When giving away that much you may as well post a banner that says 'don't bother with a paysite when you can get this much for free'. It's just nonsense. Also, sponsor content would last longer and be useful to more builders if there was lower minimum for galleries. If a single gallery consumes an entire new set, then only the first submitter is going to get to use it a most TGPs. Content will always be king. In year 4099, content will still rule. Fresh content is the end all of end alls. I can't think of another redundant way of saying that. Tasty, lively descriptions. I realize that a great many TGPs leave very little space for a description while demanding a good one. What the hell can you say in 17 characters? Christ! I want to see really good descriptions. You know, ones that actually describe the content. I hate seeing things like 'Blonde babe who wants a cock'. Wants? How do you know? Did you ask her? I realize it is an attempt at evoking a certain lustful response in the surfer, but can't you just describe it as 'Busty blonde hottie fingering her pussy' or 'Skinny little whore rubs one off'? We aren't all magicians with words and everyone runs dry. When it becomes a real pain in the balls to come up with four or five words, just scan over a TGPs already listed descriptions. That should inspire you. |
Guys you have been giving me great responses, keep it up!
Thanks, bunky2u |
Shouldn't your avatar read:
"Two Hills - Hairy Glen" or "Hairy Valley"? |smooch| |

I would seriously blacklist the word "posing" in all it's variations! Unfortunately all the submitter gets is something vague like "found blacklisted words"... Posing is such a boring word, such a static action = nothing enticing at all in it! I probably re-write about 10 "posing" descriptions in a bad day... |
hi
what if the model is just posing? ;) i like the word, its honest and describes the action in alot of the galleries i see (and post). but you are probably right that it is kinda boring. maybe it would help my gallery views if i worked on my descriptions a little bit more.

they are two very small towns. I always thought it was funny. Lots of wierd stuff in Alberta though... my home town has the worlds first UFO landing pad, built back in the '60s. http://www.town.stpaul.ab.ca/ |

|pcsucks| There are site which request only 12 or so, but I guess with under 15 you'd have a hard time to get into any larger TGP. |

Every time I see 'posing' I think 'no shit Sherlock'. |
