TGP question. Do you build you galleries yourself?

I have never submitted galleries before, i'm a little confused and i have a question.
I've explored approved sites on the TGPs and found out that a lot of submitters use sponsors' templates.
The question is - what if I save sponsor's fhg on HDD, upload it on my sites and submit to TGPs. Will it work? Is it allowed?
What about you? Do you build you galleries yourself?

Sleep I build my own, alot of sites dont allow for template galleries and a lot of times when you see template sites or FHG's on a TGP site its because the site owner put their rev-share galleries in action.

What I see done alot of times is webmasters make of use of the gallery page from a free-site and tweak it some to make a TGP gallery page ...

NY Jester, can you bring some examples here of your own galleries please? Or PM me with the links, if it won't be very hard for you.
Do you get approved a lot?

I had a few templates built about a year ago for a rather big project that's still running. In that project I also used my own templates. I don't know if it's the site they're selling or the templates but my own templates convert a whole lot better.

I also don't think that most TGP's accept galleries that are sponsor templates. The ones you saw probably had the TGP webmaster's affiliate code on them.

I build galleries myself to submit to other tgps.

Sponsor galleries are used to fill your own sites.

I usually build and submit 2 tgp galleries a day in about an hour and get most of my revenue from them. It only takes longer when I build a new template for a new site to promote.

Grabbing FHGs to submit yourself is usually a no-no. I think Shemp says it best on his submit page:
*** Copying sponsor galleries onto your own servers and putting my recip on them, is not acceptable to retain preferred submit status. This is total crap and i will start deleting accounts for this.

Sleep. during my first stay in the biz thats all I did was TGP..and they made me money. I look back at them now and say "How the hell did I get listed?" Im working on some new galleries to submit and I'll get them to you so you can see how mine look.

What I did, and it was advice from the board, is I created 8 templates, and I create 2 gallery pages each day on "template1" then the next day I build galleries I use "template2" - The reason for 8 is because it wont be the same gallery lay-out on every Monday, Tuesday, etc.

MML gave me the idea and also the idea of creating 30 Free Site templates and switch them out.

I have other related newbie question. what tools do you guys use to create your tgps? does there exists a software that will create thumbnails, link them to the images and then arranges those thumbnails in your gallery design?

or does creating a thumbnail gallery require different softwares. ie. photoshop to create the thumbnails and then manually insert those thumbnails in your tgp page in dreamweaver and link each one of them manually to the main images.

what is the best way to create a your Galleires for TGPs?

Well designed templates make it easy to insert content.

Keep the file names simple, like 01.jpg and tn_01.jpg and all you have to do is a batch process in photoshop.

I usually build my own but at times do have a designer build me some templates. Those tend to look like hosted galleries so that may be what it is you're seeing at some of those TGPs. However I do know some people do copy the hosted gallery and submit them as their own. If the TGP owner doesn't push that sponsor how is he to know what is a ripped hosted gallery and what the webmaster built himself.

Good stuff.....since I am learning all about TGP's as we speak.

geirlur 2007-12-14 10:37 AM

I never copy fhg's but a lot of times I copy some of the text they're using and sometimes a little of the graphics
