You've obviously outlined many of the perceived problems that have already been largely discussed and agreed on. Now what can be done about it? IMHO, not much! Once porn was wrestled from the hands of gangsters and thrown into the free market, those forces took firm control. This means more for less and competition on the level of disposable razors.

I think what you can look forward to is a severe consolidation down the road both for sponsors and affiliate sites. The winners will be based on branding and traffic and of couse superior marketing. Every month you can see how difficult it is for a new sponsor to really rise up. I think soon new entries will be wasting their time and money until a new twist develops and gives the market a "new product" to work with.

If I had to guess where this new product or approach would come from I would say that:

1) It might be found in the customization of webcam models/sites to their surfer relationships one to one. I can see that models more and more might develop stronger relationships with the surfers that are attracted to them and porn sites would grow around these relationships to include greater personalization and content delivered directly to an individual member. All things that are going on now but just to a greater degree and it will reflect an extremely loyal retention base.

2) I've mentioned it here in many posts but the subject never seems to gain traction. But, the projected trend to wireless devices as the primary vehicle for internet content I think will turn this biz on its ear though its still not exactly clear to me... how!

3) Finally, I think membership to porn sites will increase exponentially as new countries come online in either the wired sense or the freedom to surf sense. As populations come on line in greater number, novice surfers will begin joining in droves again until they figure out the free angles.
