Good morning world
Another cold night here. Okay, well, cold for us. Down in the 50s inside since there wasn't time to take Dareutwo's suggestion about the
MrHeater he uses. Thanks for the pointer to that one. I took a look around over there and they also have
this one which seemed to be designed for indoor use. Truth is though, it's those few nights a year when we have to huddle around the stoves that reminds us there actually IS a winter. This is the coldest it's been so far and it'll be back in the 77-79 F range by Sunday. The few 'cold' snaps we get just gives us excuses to air out the heavy blankets, sweaters and coats that would just stay in storage forever otherwise.
To Dare and to Sue -- You could do what I did. I ordered a
cheap 'cruiser' style bike from K-Mart. Available in
men's and women's styles. $100 new or half that on Craig's List. All steel construction. No gears to mess with. Just a coaster brake. Nice fat tires. Very easy to put together if new, almost fully assembled in the box. I wanted something with very little investment/commitment up front, since I've spent money before on exercise equipment that turned into clothes racks. So this time there's no pressure from having an expensive bicycle that I
have to make use of. And this time I'm finding that I'm really looking forward to the daily rides.
If you decide to order a bike online, you may be able to get free shipping (Amazon in particular). Also, make sure to get at least a $10 air pump since the tires won't be fully inflated in the box. And I bought a
better saddle (seat) from the local bike shop since that's the one thing definitely worth upgrading.
Damn... more words that I intended. Oh well, time to quit and just wish everyone an excellent Friday, even if you weren't planning on having one.
