I'm not Heidi, but I'll try to answer. Some time ago I emailed Doug with the same question and the answer was yes, they do reqire reciprocal link, but that reciprocal link is not neccessary to be on the main page of paysite. It could be on warning pages, join page, resource page of affiliate program, etc.
