Are any top spots worth $1,750.00?

Has anybody here ever paid a hefty sum for a top spot at a tgp? And if so, was it worth the money? It must be possible to make a decent profit, but I don't see how someone could make that amount back plus turn enough profit to make it worth doing. If nothing else, is it worth sweating bullets hoping you'll make it back?

If you would be "sweating bullets" I suggest you don't do it.

I know many people who spend a lot of people on spots like that. I never have. I have bought many spots and only the odd time I did not make a profit.

BUT, that is for an entire month right? So 30 galleries? That's under $60 per gallery. Not cheap but I bet the site has the traffic and if you have the right sponsors for those 30 spots sure you could make your money. If you do not know what you are doing you will lose bigtime.

You will only make your money back if you have
1. exclusive unseen content
2. a tested gallery template that works well and has generated lots of signups already
3. either a high pps payout ($30+ / better if you can send that many sales that you get bonus payouts like topbucks $40-42) or the site has a great members area and your members will stay for a couple of months.

Otherwise you will lose money not only from the cost of the paid spot but also for bandwidth.
Rami's network of sites for example can burn 20mbit with movie galleries easily.

Tons of people buy top spots. If you have a hot site/product/service it can do wonders for you. The more the better.. But I don't know about $1,750 for one spot.

Every day you need to make $60 + your BW costs in order to break even. Is it so difficult to believe that it can't be done? There isn't a lot of room to make mistakes but certainly many well seasoned vets can do that.

I may be wrong but I think the prices of many tgp spots are driven by demand. There is such high demand for the traffic that they can get away charging high prices. What effect it might have is getting more paysites to start buying the spots because it makes more sense than an affiliate because they get full commission. However running many tgp spot campaigns is very time consuming. Affiliates will always be around but it kinda gets rid of the need for affiliates in this situation because you just buy the traffic and get the full commission. We buy tons of spots each month however I prefer affiliates who send sales.

I think there's better ways to use $1,750...I'm sure people make profits from these listings...I'm just saying there's probably more you can do with that money if you spread it around to a few sources, etc.

Rumor has it The Hun can charge up to $500 a day and Pink World is charging $60 a day for the top spot. Nick has been very hesitant to raise his prices so some body is making profit on that spot.

There are plenty of ways to spend that kind of money but are there ways that have less risk?

I guess it just boils down to if you've got $1,750.00 to play with, it might be worth it to put up your best galleries and see what happens. The main thing I would wonder about would be what is the quality of the tgp's traffic. Some tgp's have real high quality traffic and others don't convert very well.

I've bought spots at several TGPs, I've both made a profit and lost my shorts. It is almost like Vegas to buy spots because if they've got different traffic than what you're selling, you're not going to make your money back. So I'd say $1750 is a pretty hefty gamble for a first time gallery spot buyer. Start smaller and build your way up. Remember it's not guaranteed that you will make your money back!

I don't think anyone should spend that though until they've been writing pages for awhile and they know what they're doing. If you convert really well, have all the other essentials (enough quality content, dedicated server, pay partner accounts, tried some of the cheaper traffic sources, choker, chicken, google adwords, askjolene, etc) If you have all those things and the $1750 is just extra...it might be an interesting gamble...if you won't miss it too much.

Yeah, somebody like WorldSex I wouldn't pay it. About the only thing there is sheer volume.

I would go buy top spots off of smaller niche TGPs though. Some of them can get you sales for even small quantities of quality hits.
