% For programs?

Not sure if I should post this here or in the newbe section. But if it gets moved that’s cool with me. Anyway I'm trying to figure out the programs for getting traffic and have been reading the site, allot. I have learned much but still I'm somewhat confused.
I see programs for $50.00 sign ups, Rev Share, PPC, etc. At this time I think I could only go PPS, PPC and/or Rev Share. My site is a cam site and we are paying the models 50%. On a 10 min show @ $2.00 per min we walk away with $5.50 after paying CCBill, model and site over head (server, bandwidth, etc). At this time the only thing I have read that would not work is Rev Share. At the current listed rates max we could offer would be $1.00 to $1.50 (or 10%/15%) I have read at other forums that sites won’t send traffic for anything under 30%. Is that true? Can anyone tell me what I am missing here? I crunch the numbers down to the minute (drives the wife nuts) But i think in business it has to be that way before you even attempt to enter a program where you have to start paying out. You must know your bottom line per min as there is no sure fire way of getting a 2nd show. Too many variables (customer my not have the funds remaining, spouse walks in during the pencil sharpening and cuts the internet from the house, etc etc.) So am I on the right track here? Would that be bad payouts for rev share? I'm not looking to start anything till well after the site is up as I know I need to learn a shit load more and surly don’t want to get ripped or promise something I find out later cant be delivered on. But I also know I will have to start something very soon as the site (like all) needs traffic. TRAFFIC THE GOD THAT WILL RULE ME SOON!!! Any advice would be great. Thanks Jugg..

One thing you might want to consider is upsells and cross sells. Give yourself some other ways to make money on your surfers, and when you've had that going for a while you may be able to take out of that to pay a bit more to affiliates so you can offer a more attractive percentage.

Some surfers will buy DVDs but not porn memberships, some will buy memberships but not pay per minute for live shows...if you're only offering one way for them to spend money you're losing out on something.

I'd recommend checking out what other pay per minute live cam sites are paying their affiliates. If you're not in the same neighborhood, then you'll have a hard time getting anyone to promote your program.

I would suggest revshare, but do not offer a %, offer an amount per minute. Eg 25c per Minute. The reason I say this is that most of the high volume webmasters I know only go revshare, and those are the sort you want (I can tell you from experience what a nightmare it is dealing with webmasters who only make a couple of sales a year and who are constantly emailing you to ask why you have not made a sale from the ten hits they sent you last week). However, as you said, most webmasters will not be interested in a % as low as the highest you can afford to offer. But if you play up the fact that they get 25c for every Minute they sell, they may not look into the amount you charge the punters and work out the %. Hopefully enough will think of the number of hours they can sell, multiply it by $15, and go for that.

You might also consider changing the terms with the models to 50% after processing/fees - none of the programs that I deal with eat the processing fees.

22.5% also seems like a really high processing fee - and please correct me if I'm wrong on that end, but isn't is usually 12-15%?

Even leaving those out of the picture, you could run some totals for 3 months or so & see what your avg is per model & then base a PPS payout on that. If each sign-up is making you $50 on average, then paying out $20-25 per sign up might be an option.

I dont have the numbers right in front of me as Im in the office. The break down is as follows.
10min show @ $2.00 per/min = $20.00
CCBill =15%= $3.00
Model=50%=$10.00
Sever cost roughly something like $1.00 per day per host. I am only able to have 10 hosts right now as I could not get more licensing on the software. So I have to calulate in that a host may only get 1 show per day or none at all.
I have ran some base numbers and at minimum after payouts if one host does 1 10 min show per day (which is not impossible at all, if we can get the traffic) then the site will be profitable. Not much but a plus is alway better then a minus. Jim I think I'm going to take your advice at this time. I can crunch all the numbers I want but fact is, until I have this thing 100% up and running I will never know what I can or can not pay out. Thanks Guys...

I'm Live at PussyCash pays per sign ONLY when the surfer makes a deposit of $25 or more. You could do the same. Make it so the surfer must make a minimum deposit of $20 or more and pay per signup. You then keep ALL the recurring if that surfer spends more money.

I have to say WOW. And Im serious because of the posts here my mind has been going a mile a minute. I know I should be working heck thats what I get paid for but today is a very slow day so I can't help but think of my personal business. Anyway I'm starting to get ideas from these posts that I really think can work. I guess tonight it's back to the white board and calculator, along with a 10 minute annoy the wife speach. Thank you guys so much. This place really is great. I have posted on other forums before only to be told, go away read online and figure it out. Well now I can't wait for the radio show. I will be listening.
