My Good Sister-in-Law is coming here for the weekend today. For reasons only my lovely wife, her sister and mother know, she is staying here for the first time instead of their mother's house

I still don't know how it will change my weekend but I am sure it will.

So, just as an fyi, next Friday I will conclude any and all business until January 2, 2007. I am really going to attempt to stay off my pc for the entire 2 weeks. Probably will be back shortly after Christmas since my Daughter, Husband and my 2 Grandchildren will be here for the week after Christmas.

Been up for a couple of hours, guess I was done sleepin'. The daily reviews and updates are complete.

Not sure what I'm gonna do the rest of the day since our new HD TV is has a broken bulb and it will be at least Tuesday before we can get a replacement.

Three authorized warranty service shops here in Houston and the only one that has the part in stock is short two techs and can't get here until Thursday. My roomie was on the phone most of the afternoon yesterday and I think he managed to jump through enough hoops to get Mitsubishi to overnight the part directly to us, but it won't go out until Monday.

Jim, are you sure you can go cold turkey? No PC for two weeks? I get the shakes just thinking about that. |shocking|

I applaud your decision Jim.

I'm going to do something similar, but only for 1 week. You will come back so refreshed. I always take a few " 1 week with no computer even turned on breaks ", and it is always so refreshing when I come back all energized to press on.

Good Saturday Peoples

Watched the latest Pirates Of The Caribbean last night - I sorta hate it when you know it's a 2 part movie (but not knowing, like when I watched the 1st Lord Of The Rings, is really confusing) We also watched You, Me & Dupree which was not as horrendous as I thought it was going to be.

Not a lot on the agenda today - I've got the normal work & fantasy stuff to do (playoffs in 2 leagues baby

) and I have to clean the Pool House as we're having people over to watch the non-HD Bills game tomorrow afternoon.

Busy, chilly morning. Catching up as much as possible then it's off to buy the ol' Christmas tree and all the crap to hang on it to taunt the cats.

This year will be fun, as last Christmas we were still in Missouri in evacuation mode. It's true that you don't know what you've got until it's gone.

Just a normal Saturday around here. Looks to be in the mid-70s with rain, so it's a good day for opening all the windows and catching up on some things.

Have to see what's wrong with the Comcast dvr too. Seems like it went up to 100% full on its hard drive and instead of deleting the oldest stuff and moving on, it shut down all dvr-related functions with a message saying what it'd done.

well the city is still digging itself out of our worst snowfall in about 20 yrs. It's pretty funny cuz if you go 1/2 hr down the highway there's almost nothing - if we didn't have pics, no one would believe us lol.

Nope, I have already let everyone that I work with on that one day/month that we will get together on the 15th instead

I'm off to the Palms today to get the picks in early due to tomorrow's marathon closing off my street access. I have to park my car on the other side of the street otherwise I can't get out in the AM.

On an UP note, I got a nice little fed-ex package yesterday with a 5 year contract in it so i made a copy and fed-ex'd it off to my friend/attorney to see exactly what liabilities i'd have if accepted. I hate legal lingo.. but if all goes well..i could be back in my favorite city as soon as June of 07. Look out Manhattan--Phat girl walking!!

Off to the Palms and then to the swap.. found out they closed the playboy store too.. who know that someone would actually think they could get away with playboy knockoffs..
