How many recips?

I have finally got a freesite ready but I need to get it listed. I have visited some link list and got their recips. After reading several wevmaster tutorials I'm ready to put them on index pages of my site copies before I submit them. Most of these tutorials recommend 8 - 16 per page. The recips that I downloaded have two and some times three links on the recip, does this make a difference on how many I put together on the same page?
