What use are FHGs without descriptions?

My only use of FHGs so far is to load them into a database to create what I call a directory. For that, I need a title, URL and description.

While some sponsors provide this, but many only have one description - which I can often massage to create a shorter title from.

What I don't understand is the number who only provide lists of URLs to their FHGs - or have that as an option. What do you do with just a list of URLs, possibly sorted by site?

I must be being naive, but I can't imagine what use it would be to send someone to a URL without establishing they'd be interested in it in the first place by telling them what it is.

While I'm on the subject ... some sponsors seem to have lists of descriptions for FHGs that are completely separate from URLs - is there really any value in using a description of a pigtailed teen lying on a bed peeling back her panties to send a surfer to an asian teen bending over a garden bench? (fabricated example)
