Domain name sales advice?

I have 2 guys in the middle of a bidding war for one of my secondary domains. Its not even a domain name Ive advertised for sale but the latest price has jumped to 50K so now I have to do some serious consideration.

How does the industry estimate the value of a domain? This is a domain name not a site so all the posts about revenue etc have no bearing on it. And its not a short name either.

And secondly have any of you used a 3rd party to help with the transaction and if so... which one?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Wow, good cash. Sedo is good with that I believe and escrow too. I know a few people that used escrow and it worked fine. https://www.escrow.com/index.asp

Thanks. Yes escrow is what Ive been looking at. People with a vested interest in domain sales make me nervous. Someone that just handles a process is much more preferred.

ANd yeah its good cash. Like I said I wasnt looking to sell it. It does have a little traffic to it.

escrow.com is good for the transaction, but make sure you shorten the inspection time to 1 day (instead of the usual 5 or 7) and take as long as possible between the time they get the money and they time you sign over the domain. At 50k, you probably won't be dealing with bad credit cards

You can ask the loser to contact me, I might have some domains for them.

all what I can suggest - Sell It! Sell It Now!

such offer might never come, your clients might reconsider their offers, etc... don't be greedy. I once lost good offer for one of my domains.

I'd sell it even for 5K right away. This looks like you won a lottery in wich you didn't participate.
