![]() Does it matter which extension (HTM or HTML) you use in regards to optimizing your site for the search engines?
I always use index.html for my index page, and name everything else as .htm. What do you guys think? |juggle| |

All the category pages on link-o-rama.com are .htm pages & I'm still getting SE results, so it probably doesn't matter as far as the SE spiders are concerned.

As long as Googlebot can find your default index.. it can be called anything you like
This will depend on your server setup and the way you link to sites/pages. htm/html/shtml etc makes no diff... As GG said.... Most of my pages are .shtml and all are ranked DD

I believe the only difference between .htm and .html is that Billy Gates could not handle a four letter extension.
