and here I sit. Just working all day as I need to get a bunch of updates uploaded and ready. Likely later today I try to purge some junk we never use and give it away on Facebook or sell if it's worthwhile

Today I have my usual Thursday lunch out then it's off to the doctor for a blood pressure check. Work for the remainder of the day in a house that is a little too warm. Where is the HVAC guy?

Should do month end but I don't want to be in a bad mood so I'll go outside and work on the house even though I'm a bit sore from yesterday.

Other than this it's the usual grunt work all day on heat/ice.

Pretty much a normal day here. Lots of stuff to do, and little energy to do it. In April, my mom announced she needs to cut back and save as much as she can in case she has to have someone come in to assist her (she is 97 now and still lives on her own.) She sold her car, and promptly put the money in the bank. Smart move. So this weekend, she announced my ex-nephew-in-law came to visit her and his car was on its last legs. He brushed it off saying he has 3 more cars at home - none of which are running. She has decided he *has* to have a working vehicle, whether he wants it or not. I have tried to tell her that he has his reasons for not splurging on a newer car. He probably can't afford to fix the cars he has. If he can't afford that, how will he afford car payments and increased insurance? Yeah, his cars may not be in perfect shape but they are paid for. I know what it did to my budget when I bought a new car years back. I needed it desperately, but the bills were staggering, like half my take-home between payment and insurance. I told her she had better be prepared to not only make the down payment, but the monthly payments as well, especially as the ex-NIL can't afford repairs on his existing fleet. (In his defense, 2 of his 3 kids have graduated college, and the youngest is working. He is likely still paying their college bills.)

So then she says she knows she can get home health care for $15 an hour.... in Los Angeles. The dear old bird is so sadly out of touch. Ah, well. Not my circus, not my monkeys. I hear porn galleries calling my name. I must get back to them before they start screaming. I don't feel like dealing with their nonsense today, but what choice do I have? It's either them or the black hole.
